Random pictures I take on my walks

Fall has arrived here in southern Norway. A beautiful time of year to capture the colors of the vast and rugged landscapes here. Although this picture has been color manipulated by me I still wanted to bring forth an autumn's feel, crisp air, rays of sunshine sneaking its way through trees and branches and shine upon fallen leaves, reflecting on a summer gone by.

I most often carry a camera when taking walks. A "bad" picture can be transformed into something really fabulous by manipulating colors in graphic programs. This one I retouched in iPhoto which comes with any Mac computer.

Trying out some color schemes in iPhoto.

Abstract artwork by a Norwegian artist. I want them all!

A saw these as I was walking past a local artists studio: A painted snow board. What a cool idea . I absolutely love the colors.
Hello everyone!
Just sitting here in my studio, gazing through the window thinking how lucky I am to be here in this beautiful country, to share my life with the most amazing man and to get to craft jewelry. Today I wanted to share with you some colorful pictures of the area I live in. Hope you will enjoy them!

Have a happy friday everyone!
I'll be in my studio if you need me! :)

A sunday drive

Today John and I went for a drive to Stavern which is a small artist driven town about a 20 minute drive from here. Just beautiful! We went to the local museum, the beach, had some ice cream and enjoyed an awesome fall day.
I got so inspired that I had to make a couple of new pieces when we got home. I had started one already but had to put it to rest last night since I just didn't know how to go further with it. All it takes sometimes is time away, out of the house to refresh my spirit. It works most of the time.
Both necklaces are composed of Indonesian agate cabs. One features tons of embellishments that ties together all the swirls and textures of the golden agate.
The other piece features a nicely polished agate with colors of white, browns and dark greens. There are even two small druzies with tiny crystals. The edge of the baseplate is scalloped and textured. Both items have been oxidized and given a nice and smooth satin finish to bring out the details.

Going to finish a custom order and then I am going to bake a loaf or two of bread. Ahhh, I love days like these.

Both necklaces are listed in my Etsy shop!

Have a great sunday!

Look what the postman brought me today!

I love days like today when I get loads of goodies in terms of jewelry supplies in the mail! I got 25 stones all together today, bezel wire and silver sheet! It's been dreadful not being able to spend much time crafting jewelry when I had a couple of days off because I was out of materials.
I am in love with all the stones I got, especially the intense colored druzy agates. They are absolutely stunning. Can't wait to start working tomorrow. I am hoping to have some new items to show a little later this week, perhaps even tomorrow evening, if everything goes as planned. I have tons of housework to do, but I might put them on the back burner. Sometimes I can't believe how two people can create such a mess around the home. I am notorious for leaving my jewelry related stuff all over the place. You can find little heaps of supplies on  my kitchen table, living room table, dressers and even the top of the freezer. I have promised myself before we moved that I will make an effort to be more organized, but it sure didn't take me long to get back to my bad old habit. Luckily I have an awesome man who doesn't complain about it.
We are thinking of looking for a new and bigger place to live. This place is just too small for us, plus I am looking forward to have a more insulated studio where the noise of my tools doesn't travel as much. John works mainly night shifts, so I can't start hammering during the day hours. Being the nice guy he is he says it's okay because he is out like a light when he's sleeping. Well, I still can't get myself to do it.

Below you can see some of the new stones I got today! Loads of different agates with druzies and one gorgeous turquoise!
Plus I managed to make one cool pendant today. A hand forged and formed leaf with a 12mm blue lace agate that sits on top of a hand sawed flower embellishment.
Simple and perfect for fall.
Hope you like it as much as I do!

Enjoy your day!
