I got up early and spend the majority of today in my studio. Never seem to be able to stay out of there for long these days. The muse is calling on me constantly which is a good thing isolated, but at times I can't seem to concentrate on doing other things that need to get done.
I had such a great time sitting behind the bench smithing away and  listening to some new albums I had downloaded from iTunes.
It's been a great and productive week for me in my studio!

Today I crafted two turquoise pieces, one chrysocolla, one agate and a pair of gorgeous amber earrings. The earrings took quite some time to make since I filed each pedal's grooves by hand.  They also go well with my amber necklace that is for sale in my Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/listing/56002687/handcrafted-amber-pendant-necklace

I will be listing these starting this evening local time. Not sure if I will manage to post them all since I also need to finish some overdue housework.

How has your week been so far?

A sunday drive

Today John and I went for a drive to Stavern which is a small artist driven town about a 20 minute drive from here. Just beautiful! We went to the local museum, the beach, had some ice cream and enjoyed an awesome fall day.
I got so inspired that I had to make a couple of new pieces when we got home. I had started one already but had to put it to rest last night since I just didn't know how to go further with it. All it takes sometimes is time away, out of the house to refresh my spirit. It works most of the time.
Both necklaces are composed of Indonesian agate cabs. One features tons of embellishments that ties together all the swirls and textures of the golden agate.
The other piece features a nicely polished agate with colors of white, browns and dark greens. There are even two small druzies with tiny crystals. The edge of the baseplate is scalloped and textured. Both items have been oxidized and given a nice and smooth satin finish to bring out the details.

Going to finish a custom order and then I am going to bake a loaf or two of bread. Ahhh, I love days like these.

Both necklaces are listed in my Etsy shop!

Have a great sunday!

Oh la la Turquoise

I'm so in love ( again ) with my latest creation that I had another hard time deciding whether I should keep this all to myself or offer it to someone who really is going to treasure it forever.
It is available in my Etsy shop

Will have a bigger update tomorrow! :-)

Cheerio!
