Waiting..

Hi!

I guess I was a little über-ambigious with my shop update. First off all I didn't get the silver sheet that I ordered. It came to the post office this afternoon, however, I won't be able to pick it up until tomorrow. I did start however on some really lovely small pendant items. Unique, simple and fun. They will be very affordable.
There will also be a couple more picasso jasper earrings, bracelets and necklaces.
I have this intense need to create something unique and more challenging, to explore techniques I haven't used before. After all, to have a unique style is very important in this business. Not easy to achieve, but I'll never give up learning new things.

I might have a tiny shop update tomorrow, but can't promise anything. I'll preview them here first though!

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog!

They come in two's

I finally managed to finish two necklaces today! Yayyy for me!! :)
One is a rectangular pendant with a nice bezel set rainforest jasper cabochon. The edge around the pendant is scalloped and matches the bezel.
The other one features a square amber cabochon and lovely embellishments. This design came to me last night as John and I went to a flea market and came across some cool antique wrought iron pieces. I really love this one. It took a long time to craft, but I am very happy the way it turned out.
I am waiting on some silver sheet from the UK and don't know when it is going to get here since they had another mail strike of some sort. Plus it might be delayed at the border again as usual. As long as I will have it next week since I am going to have three off work. I really need to catch up on my shops. People please bare with me. I will have another shop update perhaps tomorrow. Not sure how many items I will manage to create with the silver I have left. We'll see.

Have a great day everyone!

Good things come in two

Here are a couple of new pieces I managed to create today. Perfect way to spend a day off. Looks like fall is just around the corner. It's quite windy out and overcast which always inspires me to spend some time behind the bench.

The necklace features a gorgeous carnelian gemstone that I have been hoarding for a long time. I used to take it out of its patted little box just to touch it. It is beautifully polished and the color is an intense deep orange. Just lovely if you ask me! :-)

The bracelet comes with a pretty bezel set lapis stone along with hand forged and textured links along with blue sodalite beads.

Hope you like them!

Have a wonderful day!

Love,
Sabine

I'm baccckkk

Hi there!!!

It's been two months since my last blog post. Time goes by so quickly these days. I am still adjusting a bit to my new job which is extremely physically and mentally demanding. To be honest I don't have much energy left after work to be thinking about blogging. Something has to change. I miss sitting behind the bench crafting jewelry on a regular basis. However, without having a regular income from jewelry sales I can not think about working less at my day job right now. The move down here has been very costly and we need to pay off a lot of bills. There are absolutely no regrets about having moved here though. It has been nothing short of fantastic. We still use our GPS quite a bit, but we can find our way around town pretty good these days. Such a lovely place, never mind the surrounding areas. The summer has been a huge treat for us so far. Much barbecuing and tanning on the back porch.
On jewelry news:
I am trying to pick out one day a week where I craft new items. I have to. My sketchbook is overfilled with tons of great new ideas and inspirations I picked up since we moved here. I seem to be drawn to simple silver designs, with a bit of natural elements such as leafs and flowers.
Right now I am having a sale in my Etsy shop for make room for new items next week.
I added some new items yesterday. Love making bracelets right now. The two bangles ( http://www.etsy.com/listing/52537230/handcrafted-turquoise-cuff-bracelet and http://www.etsy.com/listing/52538470/handcrafted-sterling-silver-cuff ) you can find in my Etsy shop right now are made from quite thick 9 gauge sterling silver wire. Despite the thickness of the wire they are easily adjustable.

Lemme see what else is new....mhhhh...oh yeah...we attended P!NK's concert here in Kristiansand last weekend! What a production! She is an incredible force of energy! Must admit that it was the best concert in its genre I have ever seen and I have been to a few. I like artists who don't take themselves too seriously and she is one of them. Her Funhouse album always plays while working out.

Moving on now to my hair...hehehe...having had long hair most of my life I decided about two weeks ago to chop it all off! Too many bad hair days plus tons of maintenance. Darn, it feels good to have short hair. Why did it take me this long to do it? I'm feeling like I am unfolding and wanting to be just accepting of who I am and not hide behind a wall of insecurities. Enough is enough. Feels great to peel of those layers. Change is good, and gosh I have had a few major ones :-)

Hope all is well in your worlds!

Much love,
Sabine

New Shop

My gosh, it feels like ages since the last time I blogged. To be honest I have not had much time in the past couple of weeks. I also injured my back a few days ago that since has gotten worse. Today I finally went to see the doctor who prescribed me some pain meds. I had no idea how awful back pain can actually be. So it's been a bit tough sitting behind the bench crafting new items.
I am though working on a LOT of new designs once these painkillers are kicking in :D

Actually a couple of weeks ago I started work on a new, more affordable line of jewelry. A fusion of Scandinavian simplicity and modern international trends. I have started to list some of the first few items. Please take a look if you will and let me know what you think I hope you will like these first few items. I will be adding more in the next few days.
I will of course still keep my regular shop where I will list mainly larger bezel set pieces.
This will also give me a chance to feed my ever changing creative need.

Hope all is well in your parts of the world!

Love,
Sabine:)

This morning I awoke to an ever so close approaching snow line. It is already quite cold and winter is just around the corner. Today was the first day in about three weeks without rain. A beautiful sunny day, cold, but very cozy. I went for a nice brisk walk this afternoon trying to take in as much sunshine as possible as the days will get much shorter and therefore darker in the coming weeks.
I've been contemplating about taking new pictures of my jewelry. So today I took a few of them outside to re-shoot and I actually like them better now than the other ones. If the weather holds up tomorrow I will try and shoot the rest of them. We'll see.
I'm also thinking about purchasing some Alpaca wool so I can knit some christmas presents and perhaps a shawl for moi. I am seeking balance in my life which I find truly difficult lately. I know that I really need to eat more healthy ( the mountain of sweets that we brought back from Germany is almost gone ) and exercise more. I used to be so disciplined. Right after work I used to go straight to the gym to work out for an hour. I felt great, although I had to take a LONG nap afterwards, but I was in the best shape ever. I miss that feeling. Funny since I always say that instead of complaining about a problem one has to either accept the situation as it is or move on and do something about it. Well, my promise to myself is to get back in shape to be healthy. No more excuses! I'll inform you about my process...

Now for something completely different:
I've gots a new beauty to show off today! A gorgeous golden rutile quartz necklace! Click here
There are more pieces on their way into the shop this week, just got to finish them up and take some pictures!

I wish you all a happy monday with tons of positive thoughts!

xx,
Sabine:)

Ahhh the fall has arrived with new items...

Isn't she lovely! I love this piece. Made myself one as well! :) This loveliness is composed of sterling silver and a ocean jasper focal bead. I stamped the butterfly myself by using my rolling mill. It is a tad oxidized to bring out the texture. It will be in the Etsy shop sometime this weekend! :)

Simple and beautiful. Sterling silver and ocean jasper.

Bezel set goldstone cabochon necklace. Simply stunning! I picked this stone up in a lovely shop in Strasbourg, France. Utter delicious:)

Listing:

Orange calcite donut, bezel set. Absolutely stunning if I may say so myself:) The colors are really intense. In fact. it reminds me of the orange flavored life saver candies...mmmmhhh yummy!

This ring will be in the shop sometime this weekend!

Anja's Art

I'd just like to share some of my sister Anja's art. I was utterly amazed when I visited her in her apartment last month and found tons of paintings that she had leaning against the wall in one of her spare rooms she has been using to paint. I had no idea that she was this good! She was so humble and completely surprised by mine and John's reaction. She said that she just paints because she craves a creative outlet that she never used before in order to express herself.
Well, to make a long story short, John took all of her paintings and took pictures and made her a website while we were there visiting!
Please take a look at her website:

Here are some of her recent paintings:

Newbies

It's been the perfect day for staying inside here. Stormy and rainy weather and it is not supposed to stop either for the next few days. Looks like there won't many leaves left on trees if that is the case.
I was perfectly content on just spending time in my studio and creating new designs. Here are a couple I made today:

One of them is a blue chalcedony druzy necklace which reminds me the cold and crisp arctic nights here in the wintertime.

Busy Busy Busy

How has your week been??

Mine has been quite busy, busy creating new designs that is. I am finally able to post some new items in my Etsy shop. It's been a while since I last updated the shop.

Sales in the Etsy shop have been extremely slow in these past few months and I am not sure why. Well, I am having a complete overhaul of my shop which includes new styles of jewelry and new photography. Hope that will help to boost sales a bit. One can't just sit back relax when sales are down. In fact, I am working already on a new fall/winter collection that is called "Arctic Garden". It includes some lovely sterling silver pieces, mainly of botanical influence ( hence the name ) and polished to a tee. I am tired of the oxidized look which has its place, but this collection consists mainly of simple and shiny pieces of jewelry. Below you can see a little sneak peak of some of my latest designs of the arctic garden collection. There will be more to come in the next few days. I am still in the develop stages with some of them.

Lemme know what you think of it! Plus I am going to update the shop with some cool new prong-set pieces that include some VERY unique and beautiful stones I bought in Germany!!

I'm off to get my bread formed! I am trying out some flour I bought in Germany, he he he ( yes, they do have much better flour and way way more types to choose from ). Hope it will turn out...will let you know later...

Hope you are all doing well and are enjoying the fall as we are here in northern Norway!

See ya!
