Goodies

Just a couple of new items that I managed to get finished today:

One is a beautiful Turquoise Cabochon ring, set in a handmade bezel with a lovely stamped pattern on the base plate and on the band itself.

Good day ya'll!

Well, it's been quite a productive day for me. I finally have a bit of time to update my Etsy shop with new delicious pieces ( if I can say so myself ). I am still waiting on a huge order of Cabochons. Seems they are stuck at customs once again. Nothing moves fast at Norwegian customs and they charge you 25% on top of anything that is worth more than 200 Kroner ( $28 USD ), plus a service charge on top of that 25%!! It adds up quite quickly.

Been up since about 6 am and have worked almost ever since ( it is 4 pm now ). I often get side tracked though, especially with my iMac close at range.

John had worked the nightshift and is sleeping in the bedroom which is not that far from my studio. Although he tells me that I can  hammer and make as much noise as I need to, I just can't get myself to do it. He sleeps like a log, however, I just don't enjoy beating metal on metal when he's sleeping.

Going to take a break for a couple of hours and finish folding some of the laundry that has been piling up for days. I'm looking forward to not having to cook tonight. Most sunday nights we order chines take-out, which, I know is not that healthy to eat all the time, but damn enjoyable :-)
Really have to get the motor going to taking my power walks again. The temperatures have dropped quite a bit in the last three days and the ice is melting which makes for a slippery walk. Excuses, excuses, I know, I have tons of them:-)

Have a great and cozy sunday!

I'll have more pieces to show in the next day or two!

Yippeee! The sun is coming!

After a three month long arctic darkness period, the sun has made an appearance! Slowly, every day the sun will make its way more and more over the horizon. We all crave it. Even though the wintery darkness here gives me tremendous inspiration regarding my creativity, it also brings with it a tad of sadness or in some cases depression, which luckily hasn't effected me in any way yet.
I am looking forward to see what this year has in store for me. I'm excited about life and the endless possibilities that lie ahead. I am working really hard to do some marketing outside of Norway to get more international business. Etsy has been absolutely great for that. Most of my customers are from overseas and from other parts of Europe. I feel so blessed to have quite a nice following. There is no better feeling than making things people love. My creativity constantly gets a boost. I do realize now that I need to take a break from the creative urge once in a while and just chill. I am a firm believer in never taking the eye off the tiger, to stay focused and not get side-tracked is a very important every-day reminder for me.

I am waiting on some incredibly beautiful Cabochons that hopefully should arrive sometime this coming week. Thinking about making some rings, a ton of it. My twig and branch style items ( there are a couple of them in my Etsy shop ) have them quite popular here in Europe with some of my wholesalers.

It's almost 9pm and I need to get a couple of orders packaged up to be send off tomorrow.

Hope everyone is having a fun-filled sunday!
