A sunday drive

Today John and I went for a drive to Stavern which is a small artist driven town about a 20 minute drive from here. Just beautiful! We went to the local museum, the beach, had some ice cream and enjoyed an awesome fall day.
I got so inspired that I had to make a couple of new pieces when we got home. I had started one already but had to put it to rest last night since I just didn't know how to go further with it. All it takes sometimes is time away, out of the house to refresh my spirit. It works most of the time.
Both necklaces are composed of Indonesian agate cabs. One features tons of embellishments that ties together all the swirls and textures of the golden agate.
The other piece features a nicely polished agate with colors of white, browns and dark greens. There are even two small druzies with tiny crystals. The edge of the baseplate is scalloped and textured. Both items have been oxidized and given a nice and smooth satin finish to bring out the details.

Going to finish a custom order and then I am going to bake a loaf or two of bread. Ahhh, I love days like these.

Both necklaces are listed in my Etsy shop!

Have a great sunday!

Mexican Druzy Agate Necklace

Gosh, I'm in utter love with this necklace. It took most of my afternoon to make, but boy I'm very pleased with the end result. The pictures don't show the true color of this fabulous agate with swirls of reds, yellows, white and greys.  The scalloped edge along with the hand sawed embellishments really make this stone pop.
I shall list this piece a little later in my Etsy shop!

Back to the studio!

Enjoy your saturday!

Happy friday everyone!
Today I managed to spend some time in my studio and these two beauties are what I have to show for ( for now ).
Two different pieces. Most of the time I have to have some sort of vision or sketch something out meticulously before I start working on a piece, but the idea for these two came about while I was staring out the my window in front of my bench. A clear vision and I had to act upon it right away. Ideas often come to my mind at odd places and most of the time I don't bother drawing them down thinking I would remember. Hah! Not so! I have to write down everything now. My mind is on overload these days and my ability to concentrate on one thing isn't the greatest.
Before I bore you more with my ramblings, here are the two additions:
One sun/moon necklace with hand sawed scalloped edge. Lightly oxidized and brushed to a nice and smooth satin finish.
The other  one is a amber necklace, three layers of hand sawed pieces. Also oxidized, but this one has been polished to a bright and shiny finish.
Both will be available in my Etsy shop sometime this evening!

Thanks for reading!
