New organic pieces

I guess my love for nature and especially fall really shines through in my work lately. Yesterday I ordered a ton of new cabs, some of them are gorgeous colored druzies, agates and all kinds of jaspers. Most of them are quite small which I will turn into earrings. I realize that I haven't made a lot of earrings for quite a long time. It was really my intention today to make a whole bunch, but I was just sitting there feeling like I have some sort of creative block when it came to thinking up a cool new design. I did however, have no problems making new necklaces.
The one pair of earrings that you see in this batch I had made a couple of weeks ago but had forgotten to take pictures of them. They are awesome ( me thinks ). They come with oval bezel set rainbow moonstones. The patina really makes the blue-ish flash come out in this lovely stones.

Here we feature a hand sawed birch leaf necklace with a 9mm bezel set mother of pearl cabochon. 

This is the exact leaf that I replicated.

The exact same leaf in copper minus the pearl but with two "drops of dew" from sterling silver.

I lightly oxidized it for a more dramatic and rustic effect. 

Will be available in the shop a little later on today!

And then there is another organic leaf necklace, this one also boasts a bezel set mother of pearl cab. A lovely design and great for everyday wear or to a nice black V-neck.

This adorable lotus pendant necklace is set with a 7mm amber cabochon.

I obviously obsessed with botanical jewelry lately.

Most of these will make it into the shop sometime today. If not, then for sure tomorrow!

And there were another two

Believe it or not, but I somehow managed to "squeeze" in another two necklaces today! 

One with a lovely blue lace agate that features a nice scalloped edge and a  leaf that I printed on my rolling mill.

The other one is a heart shaped pendant necklace that I embellished with different sized sterling silver balls and a cute little "flower".

I think I am going back in my studio for a while to start another project. Going to have to work at my day job for the next four days, so there won't be much time in between to make anything new.

Fall is not far off here in southern Norway. I can tell today, although the sun is in its full bloom, that there is a sense of crispness in the air. Looking forward to fall. My favorite time of the year!

I'm on a roll

I'm having one those incredible bursts of utter joy this week. Uncontrollable inspiration. Too bad that there are "just" 24 hours in a day. Well, I think I have managed to squeeze out another couple of items and there are more to come by the end of this week! I just hope they will catch an eye or two and wander into someone else's home:D

On a sadder note: I am so upset with myself having ruined one of my super cute summer dresses John had picked out for me:(
Silly me was playing with oxidizing a piece when the jar fell out of my hand and went all over my lovely dress. Yes, "why don't you wear protective clothes while working?", well....it was the end of my work day....tja....ah, excuses, yep. Clumsy moi.

I didn't realize how big of a job it is to defrost a freezer. With John being out of town for a few days playing gigs I decided to go wild and start cleaning the place from top to bottom, started with the freezer early on in the day, but I was still up at 1 am scraping the last few bits of ice off. Yikes, decided to take it easy today and enjoy myself by sitting outside to get a bit of color on this rather pale body of mine. I might have to squeeze in a nap and then I'm off to my studio for a continued round of metalwork.

Rings'n things

Been a busy little bee these past couple of days, but managed to squeeze in a few rings and a lovely necklace that I finished today for the Etsy shop!

Here we go:


oopsy daisy...moi favorite! Composed from sterling silver and a beautiful red agate cabochon. I'm a bit on a spiritual path jewelry wise and like adding some little inspirational messages or words in forms of tags and such. Sometimes we just need a little reminder that keeps us on track wherever we are going and what better way to remind us to be happy? A piece of lovely jewelry from Sabine Andrea! Yayyyyy! :-) And I haven't even had coffee! ( I rarely drink that stuff ).




I have sketched the design of this ring months ago, but after taking a long walk and looking across the street at the ocean and surrounding valleys and mountains it came clear to me that I need to make this ring before the urge lessens. This ring resembles the waves, valleys and rugged mountains that surround us here in the north of Norway. ûber pretty:-)





This ring has been bezel set with a rough Apatite gemstone. I love the look of combining rough gemstones with precious metals. It gives a piece of jewelry a very cool organic look. Back to basics.




Hand forged ring with a fun circular and scalloped pattern. I'm in love with this one ( as well ) can't help it.



These lovey dovey earrings are made from juicy red coral beads, handmade bead caps and molten, flattened sterling discs. I love these and had to make a pair for myself.




Hope you are all happy and are enjoying some sunshine wherever you are...it is still freezing cold here in the north. Hope the sun will poke through the clouds soon so we can sit outside and bbq.

It seems like that I do my best and most efficient work when I am trying to cope with inner turmoil.
My dad is not feeling so great these days. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer a couple of years ago and has since had radiation therapy. Now, after having just had some unrelated surgery they found a couple of swollen lymph nodes that seems to be of some concern. His doctor has told him a while back that the cancer he's had is of an aggressive type. He is obviously worried and so is my mom. I so hope he'll be okay.
My dad and I have never really been close. It was tough growing up as the oldest of three girls. He had quite an aggressive nature about him and would often yell and scream at us for no apparent reason. Stress was a common factor in my life. Having to worry constantly about whether I had done something wrong or not. Yikes, that was just awful.
He has since changed a lot and is a lot more reserved and calmer than he used to be. I love my dad and owe him a great deal even though he has caused me a lot of pain back then. He's had it tough and should've dealt with his demons before having brought us into this world. Back then, sadly, it was almost a common factor to be brought up in a strict way.
Anyways, I have grown a lot and put all my energy into being the best person I can be and without my creativity I would go bonkers. I need it like water. Today was a day of intense creating. I need that. It felt extremely therapeutic and filled with joy and good music. I try and put my sadness into something creative and it works ( almost ) every time.

Now, I'm off to take my last few items out of the tumbler and make myself something to eat...I'm starving!
